Some time ago I published an article on removing scales from a SAK, and apparently it was either missed by most folks or wasn’t any good because the “what’s the best way to remove scales?” is still one of the most commonly asked questions, so I thought it was about time we revisited it.
This time however, rather than try to take some pictures of the process, I’ll be taking a video of it, as it’s very difficult to snap a picture while both hands are busy!
Getting new scales today are a couple of old friends, last seen in the infamous dishwasher article- and I say “infamous” because I think I got more hate mail after that article than any other! We’ll be looking at the Silvertech Spartan and red Compact that have been sitting here with warped scales for some time now, and giving them a bit of a makeover that some will like and some will hate. For those that think it’s good, I’m happy- for those that aren’t as positive, I promise these will never get out and contaminate the public SAK supply!
I also noticed after filming that I said the Spartan was a Huntsman, which it obviously wasn't- for some reason I had "Huntsman" in my mind and kept saying it! Afterwards while reviewing it I realized it wasn't a Huntsman, but by then it was too late to change it, so I felt it best to just own my mistake!
I’d also like to give a shout out to Neil in The Hive Of SAKtivity for providing these nice replacement scales.

For some reason I kept saying Huntsman, and I have no idea why. I left it in, because I figure it's important to own up to your mistakes, and have fun with them. Plus, since I'd already swapped the scales, it wasn't really an option to go back and start again!

I’d also like to give a shout out to Neil in the Hive Of SAKtivity for providing these nice replacement scales.
